Each year in the Chinese Calendar is represented by one of 12 different animals. One of these is the Year of the Pig and it is believed that people born in that year have certain characteristics.
The Chinese years do not run exactly alongside the Western calendar dates. The starting date of the Chinese New Year changes every year and usually begins in late January or early to Mid February.
The Year of the Pig occurred in 1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007, 2019 and 2031.

The Pig Personality
People of this sign are honest and tolerant and make good friends. Pigs (or Boars) however tend to expect the same from everyone else, they often end up disappointed when they learn otherwise of people. Viewed often as naïve, a pig is very trusting.
Someone born in the year of the Pig is usually honest, straightforward and a patient person.
They are a modest, shy character who prefers to work quietly behind the scenes. When others despair, they are often there to offer support.
This type of person is reserved with those they do not know too well, but as time passes and they gain confidence, those around them may discover a lively and warm-hearted person behind that mask of aloofness.
