The 6th June 2024 is the 80th Anniversary of the Normandy Landings.
Codenamed Operation Neptune and often referred to as D-Day, it is the largest seaborne invasion in history. It marked the beginning of the end of World War Two
On Tuesday, 6 June 1944, the Allied invasion of Normandy which was part of Operation Overlord during World War II began.
The operation began the liberation of France, and the rest of Western Europe, and laid the foundations of the Allied victory on the Western Front.
On 5th and 6th June 2024, a series of major commemorations in the UK and France will honour the brave personnel who risked their lives for freedom and peace.
