Kids & Family Movies In Cinemas for February Half Term 2026

As the school holidays loom closer you will be looking for things to do, so a trip to the cinema is a great way to keep the little ones occupied.

The films chosen are all rated U, PG or 12A. You can find out more about what this means here where we explain the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) UK Film Ratings.

Here are the family movies for everyone from toddlers to kids and teens showing nationwide at the moment.

As February Half Term approaches there are a huge number of new movies up for release – including genuine new material, not just sequels, remakes and reboots! Let’s dive in.

Miss Moxy

In Miss Moxy (Cert U), a pampered cat gets lost during a holiday and must find her way back home through the South of Europe with the help of the most despicable creatures a cat can imagine: A comical dog and an old wise bird. During this journey, she broadens her outlook on life and discovers the true meaning of friendship.

With the voices of Sarah Bannier, Sana Bouchti, Pieter Embrechts, Frank Focketyn, Barbara Sarafian, Roué Verveer, Jessica Zeylmaker, it is out on 16th January.

Kangaroo

Kangaroo (Cert TBA) is a heart-warming family comedy about ex TV personality, Chris Masterman, who becomes stranded in an Outback town outside Alice Springs. There, he teams up with a 12-year-old Indigenous girl called Charlie.

The pair form an unlikely friendship and work together to rescue and rehabilitate orphaned joeys in the remote but stunning Outback community - an endeavour that proves to be life-changing for them both.

This Australian movie stars Ryan Corr, Lily Whiteley, Deborah Mailman, Wayne Blair, Trisha Morton-Thomas, Rachel House, Brooke Satchwell, Roy Billing, Ernie Dingo, Emily Taheny, Grant Denyer, Clarence Ryan, Ryan Clark, Rarriwuy Hick and Rick Donald. It is released on 30th January.

The Scarecrows' Wedding+The Smeds & the Smoos

This adorable Valentine’s themed double bill of specials is based on the books from Julia Donaldson & Axel Scheffler.

Experience The Scarecrows’ Wedding in cinemas for the first time as Betty O’Barley and Harry O’Hay plan a wedding to remember. And revisit The Smeds and the Smoos, where Janet and Bill’s runaway romance might force their warring families to overcome differences and work together.

The Scarecrows' Wedding+The Smeds & the Smoos (Cert U) is out on 6th February.

Goat

Goat (Cert TBC) is an original action-comedy set in an all-animal world. The story follows Will, a small goat with big dreams who gets a once-in-a-lifetime shot to join the pros and play roarball - a high-intensity, co-ed, full-contact sport dominated by the fastest, fiercest animals in the world.

Will’s new teammates aren’t thrilled about having a little goat on their roster, but Will is determined to revolutionise the sport and prove once and for all that “smalls can ball!”

Out on 13th February, it features the voices of Caleb McLaughlin, Gabrielle Union, Stephen Curry, Nicola Coughlan, Nick Kroll, David Harbour, Jenifer Lewis, Aaron Pierre, Patton Oswalt, Andrew Santino, Bobby Lee, Eduardo Franco, Sherry Cola, Jelly Roll and Jennifer Hudson

Looney Tunes: The Day the Earth Blew Up

Classic cartoon characters Porky Pig and Daffy Duck become Earth's only hope in Looney Tunes: The Day the Earth Blew Up (Cert TBC) when their antics at the local bubble-gum factory uncover a secret alien mind-control plot.

Faced with cosmic odds, they must save their town and the world while not driving each other totally looney.

With the voices of Eric Bauza, Peter MacNicol, Fred Tatasciore, Candi Milo, Jeff Bergman and April Winchel. It also reaches cinemas on 13th February.

Stitch Head

Another original movie released on 13th February, just in time for Half Term is Stitch Head (Cert U).

In a castle laboratory high above a little town, a Mad Professor brings weird creatures to life - then promptly forgets all about them. So who takes care of the monsters? Who teaches them NOT to be monstrous, so the townsfolk don’t form an Angry Mob and burn the castle to the ground? Meet Stitch Head, who is the professor’s very first creation, who teaches them to become civilised, to never leave the castle, and not draw attention to themselves

But when Stitch Head is offered the chance to join a travelling circus, who will protect the other monsters?

With the voices of Joel Fry, Alison Steadman, Rob Brydon, Fern Brady, Tia Bannon, Jamali Maddix and Asa Butterfield.

The SpongeBob Movie: Search for Squarepants

SpongeBob and his Bikini Bottom friends set sail in their biggest, all-new, can’t miss cinematic event ever, The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants (Cert PG). Which opens on 20th December.

Desperate to be a big guy, SpongeBob sets out to prove his bravery to Mr. Krabs by following The Flying Dutchman – a mysterious swashbuckling ghost pirate – on a seafaring comedy- adventure that takes him to the deepest depths of the deep sea, where no Sponge has gone before.

With the voices of Mark Hamill, George Lopez, Carolyn Lawrence, Mr. Lawrence, Isis “Ice Spice” Gaston, Sherry Cola, Clancy Brown, Tom Kenny, Rodger Bumpass, Bill Fagerbakke, Regina Hall and Arturo Castro.

Wicked: For Good

We’ve waited patiently for a whole year for the second half of last Christmas’ Wicked, the film version of the hugely successful stage musical, and Wicked: For Good (Cert PG) finally hits the movie theatres on 21st November.

As an angry mob rises against the Wicked Witch, Glinda and Elphaba will need to come together one final time. With their singular friendship now the fulcrum of their futures, they will need to truly see each other, with honesty and empathy, if they are to change themselves, and all of Oz, for good.

Zootropolis 2

Brave rabbit cop Judy Hopps and her friend, the fox Nick Wilde, team up again to crack a new case, the most perilous and intricate of their careers.

This sequel to the 2016 hit animation Zootropolis sees the return of rookie animal cops Judy and Nick who are sent on a make or break mission by Chief Bogo that has them coming face-to-face with mysterious pit viper Gary De'Snake’ whose arrival disrupts the balance of the metropolis.

To solve the case, they must go undercover to new parts of town, testing their partnership while dealing with a conspiracy.

The voice cast of Zootropolis 2 (Cert TBC) includes Jason Bateman, Ginnifer Goodwin, Rolando Davila-Beltran, Fortune Feimster, Shakira, Ke Huy Quan and it will be in cinemas from 28th November.
