Kids & Family Movies In Cinemas for Easter 2026

Easter’s on it’s way so as the kids have a couple of weeks off school, let’s find out what’s on in cinemas to keep them entertained this Easter.

The films chosen are all rated U, PG or 12A. You can find out more about what this means here where we explain the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) UK Film Ratings.

Here are the family movies for everyone from toddlers to kids and teens showing nationwide at the moment.

Once again we are treated to a huge number of new family movies up for release – with new material, not just sequels, remakes and reboots! Let’s dive in.

Hoppers

This Easter, Disney Pixar presents an original animated movie Hoppers (Cert U) where an animal lover seizes an opportunity to use technology that places her consciousness into a robotic beaver. She finds that she is able to uncover mysteries within the animal world that are beyond anything she could've imagined.

Unfortunately, she also manages to unwittingly starting an animal uprising against all humans....

Opening on 6th March it includes the voices of Jon Hamm, Bobby Moynihan, Piper Curda and Meryl Streep.

Smurfs

Don’t be blue, the Smurfs (Cert U) are back!

When Papa Smurf is mysteriously taken by evil wizards, Razamel and Gargamel, Smurfette leads the Smurfs on a mission into the real world to save him. With the help of new friends, the Smurfs must discover what defines their destiny to save the universe.

Smurfs features an all-star voice cast including Rihanna, James Corden, Nick Offerman, JP Karliak, Daniel Levy, Amy Sedaris, Natasha Lyonne, Sandra Oh, Octavia Spencer, Nick Kroll, Hannah Waddingham, Alex Winter, Maya Erskine, Billie Lourd, Xolo Maridueña with Kurt Russell and John Goodman.

Like Hoppers, it also opens on 6th March 2026.

A Tooth Fairy Tale

Van is a teenage tooth fairy with a taste for adventure, who wishes to explore life beyond the boundaries of his secluded civilization and rigid traditions. In A Tooth Fairy Tale (Cert PG) Van meets Gemma, a daring goblin girl with a knack for science, and the pair realise that they have a lot in common, despite the ancient disputes between their two tribes.

Together, with the help of Rupee (the world’s cutest troll!), they decide to embark on a mission to reunite their magical kingdoms for good. However, hot on their trail is the greedy Spider Queen and her minions, who will stop at nothing to put an end to their plans.

Opening on 13th March, this stunning animation will spark the imagination of the whole family. It stars the voices of Booboo Stewart, Larkin Bell, Vivica A. Fox, Jon Lovitz, and Fran Drescher.

The Land of Sometimes

In The Land of Sometimes (Cert U) twins Alfie and Elise get more than they bargained for after summoning the mysterious Wish Collector, an enigmatic character who whisks them away to The Land of Sometimes - an incredible place where all four seasons pass in just one day.

Granted with a total of six wishes, the pair soon learn that they’ll need to be careful what they wish for, embarking on a magical, musical journey filled with fantastical creatures and a truth that shines brighter than any wish: the power of family.

Out on 20th March, the movie features new songs by three-time Academy Award® winner Tim Rice and features an all-star voice cast including Ewan McGregor, Helena Bonham Carter, Alisha Weir, Asa Butterfield, Mel Brooks, and Monty Python’s Terry Jones.

Bluey at the Cinema: Playdates with Friends

The 27th March is a special day at the cinema for toddlers!

Bluey at the Cinema: Playdates with Friends (Cert U) Collection is an hour of fun that features eight episodes from across the TV show’s three series, all celebrating play and imagination with friends and family!

The compilation showcases some of Bluey's favourite games like Shadowlands and Octopus, and highlights special friendship moments in episodes such as Circus and Slide - all packed with lots of joy and laughter

The Magic Faraway Tree

Based on the much-loved book by Enid Blyton, The Magic Faraway Tree (Cert U) follows Polly, Tim and their three children - a modern family forced to relocate to the remote English countryside.

As they adapt to their new lives, the children discover a magical tree and its extraordinary and eccentric residents including treasured characters Moonface, Silky , Dame Washalot and Saucepan Man. At the top of the tree, they are transported to spectacular and fantastical lands and, through the joys and challenges of their adventures, the family learn to reconnect and value each other for the first time in years.

It opens on 27th March 2026. and stars Rebecca Ferguson, Andrew Garfield, Claire Foy, Nicola Coughlan, Nonso Anozie, Jessica Gunning, Lenny Henry, Michael Palin and Jennifer Saunders.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie (Cert TBC) is an animated film based on the world of Super Mario Bros., and follows The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which was released in 2023.

Plot details are sketchy at time of writing, but it seems that Mario ventures into space, exploring cosmic worlds and tackling galactic challenges far from the familiar Mushroom Kingdom.

It features a starry voice cast including Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Day, Jack Black, Keegan-Michael Key, Benny Safdie, Kevin Michael Richardson and Brie Larson.

Still Showing

Here are the films from earlier this year which are still showing in some UK cinemas.

Goat

Goat (Cert PG) is an original action-comedy set in an all-animal world. The story follows Will, a small goat with big dreams who gets a once-in-a-lifetime shot to join the pros and play roarball - a high-intensity, co-ed, full-contact sport dominated by the fastest, fiercest animals in the world.

Will’s new teammates aren’t thrilled about having a little goat on their roster, but Will is determined to revolutionise the sport and prove once and for all that “smalls can ball!”

Out on 13th February, it features the voices of Caleb McLaughlin, Gabrielle Union, Stephen Curry, Nicola Coughlan, Nick Kroll, David Harbour, Jenifer Lewis, Aaron Pierre, Patton Oswalt, Andrew Santino, Bobby Lee, Eduardo Franco, Sherry Cola, Jelly Roll and Jennifer Hudson.

Night of the Zoopocalypse

When a meteor crashes into Colepepper Zoo, it unleashes a virus that transforms the zoo animals into zombies.

In Night of the Zoopocalypse (Cert U) which opened on 30th January, Gracie, a quirky young wolf, teams up with a gruff mountain lion named Dan to lead a wacky team of animals on a perilous mission to escape the virus and rescue their zoo, on one spooky NIGHT OF THE ZOOPOCALYPSE!

With the voices of David Harbour, Gabbi Kosmidis, Scott Thompson and Paul Sun-Hyung Lee.

Zootropolis 2

Brave rabbit cop Judy Hopps and her friend, the fox Nick Wilde, team up again to crack a new case, the most perilous and intricate of their careers.

This sequel to the 2016 hit animation Zootropolis sees the return of rookie animal cops Judy and Nick who are sent on a make or break mission by Chief Bogo that has them coming face-to-face with mysterious pit viper Gary De'Snake’ whose arrival disrupts the balance of the metropolis.

To solve the case, they must go undercover to new parts of town, testing their partnership while dealing with a conspiracy.

The voice cast of Zootropolis 2 (Cert PG) includes Jason Bateman, Ginnifer Goodwin, Rolando Davila-Beltran, Fortune Feimster, Shakira, Ke Huy Quan and it will be in cinemas from 28th November.
